# Process Overview

MaidSafeCoin is a proxy token for Autonomi tokens ($AUTONOMI), which was made available for purchase during the MaidSafe ICO in 2014. It's redeemable 1:1 for Autonomi tokens through an airdrop.

Holders of [MAID (Omni)](/how-to-convert-maid.md) and [eMAID (ERC20)](/how-to-convert-emaid.md) can redeem their tokens for $AUTONOMI without the need for KYC. The process varies slightly depending on the token type, but involves **burning your MaidSafeCoin** then **receiving your Autonomi tokens by airdrop** according to a [set schedule](/timeline.md).

* No KYC is required to receive the airdrop
* You must carefully complete the process, as submitting the incorrect information could result in permanent token loss.
* You do not need to convert all your MaidSafeCoin in one go
* Airdrops occur on a [rolling schedule](/timeline.md) beginning on the **14 February 2025**
* The last and final deadline for the airdrop will be **3 February 2028**
