# Claiming your Autonomi Network Tokens A guide for MaidSafe Shareholders and MaidSafe Loan Scheme Supporters to claim ANT via their dedicated NFT. If you are [eligible to claim](/claiming-autonomi-tokens/who-is-eligable) Autonomi Network Tokens (ANT) via NFT should have already submitted your wallet address to the Autonomi Foundation. \ \ Here's a step-by-step guide on how to claim:
{% stepper %} {% step %} ### Submit Your Wallet Address You'll need a [Compatible Wallet](https://docs.autonomi.com/token/using-autonomi-tokens/holding/compatible-wallets) to hold the NFT, and any ANT you'll be claiming. If you haven't already submitted your wallet address to the Autonomi Foundation, you can do so [via this form](https://autonomi.typeform.com/to/oYnm27Up). {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Visit the Claims Site Head to[ **claims.autonomi.com**](https://claims.autonomi.com) where you'll be able to see your NFT, the amount of tokens it entitles you to, and begin your claim {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Connect Your Wallet Click the `Connect Wallet` button, and then connect the same wallet you submitted to the Foundation in Step 1. This is where your NFT has been sent. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### View Claimable ANT Once connected, your NFT and claimable ANT allocation will appear. * As of **May 12, 2025**, 50% of your allocation is available. * The remaining 50% unlocks on **August 10, 2025**. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### [Fund Your Transaction Fees](/claiming-autonomi-tokens/funding-your-transaction-costs) You'll need a small amount of Ethereum (which must be on the on the Arbitrum One Network) in your wallet to cover the transaction fees, or *Gas*, in order to claim your tokens. Less than $10 worth should suffice for numerous transactions.\ \ Read our [step-by-step guide](/claiming-autonomi-tokens/funding-your-transaction-costs) on how to do this. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Claim Your Tokens * Enter the number of tokens you wish to claim and click **“Claim”**. You don't have to claim them all in one go. * Claimed tokens should then appear in your wallet. If not, add them manually using this contract address:\ `0xa78d8321B20c4Ef90eCd72f2588AA985A4BDb684` For further information on setting up your wallet to hold ANT, and how to use them, visit the [Autonomi Docs](https://docs.autonomi.com/ant). {% hint style="info" %} ### Important notes about claiming 1. **There is no time limit.** You may claim at a time that is best for you and your financial and tax situation. 2. **You don't need to claim them all at once.** You can claim incrementally, in as many tranches as you like 3. **You don't have to sell after you claim.** The tokens are yours, and there is no obligation to sell after claiming. You can choose a time, and a price that is right for you {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Manage Responsibly * Claims may be taxable. Selling your NFT or ANT tokens is optional and unrestricted. * No recovery is possible if tokens are lost or mismanaged. {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} # Who is Eligable? There are three groups of people who are able to receive a ‘Break Free’ NFT, and can use it to claim an allocation of Autonomi tokens: ### MaidSafe Shareholders MaidSafe is a Scottish company, founded in 2006 by David Irvine. It has been working on the development (and now deployment and evolution) of the Autonomi Network. Autonomi was also formerly known as the SAFE Network, which was also formerly known as The MaidSafe Network. There are almost 200 private individuals who hold shares in the company. These shareholders also include the MaidSafe Foundation, a registered Scottish charity (SC042032), established in 2011, that focuses on creating opportunities through innovation and education, and BnkToTheFuture (BTTF). BTTF is an online investment platform that facilitates equity crowdfunding and investments in startups, their focus is on the future of finance, particularly in blockchain, cryptocurrency, and fintech sectors. MaidSafe Shareholders are not selling their shares for their NFTs - the status of MaidSafe shares remain unchanged/unaffected. ### MaidSafe Team The token allocation for this group is included in the 8% Shareholder token allocation above (please see the [Autonomi White Paper](https://autonomi.com/whitepaper)), this allocation attaches the team to the work they have produced and to the future success of the network. Noting here that the MaidSafe team (with the exception of David) are not shareholders of MaidSafe. ### MaidSafe Loan Scheme Supporters. In late 2019, MaidSafe raised further funds by enabling MAID holders to loan their tokens back to MaidSafe for a premium. The aim was to support the mission, without needing to secure further funding from outside of those looking to build a decentralized and open source network, controlled by no one, owned by everyone. Note: the tokens required for this group are coming from The Autonomi Foundation allocation/pool. # Funding Your Transaction Costs A step by step guide to adding Ethereum to your wallet to cover your transaction costs. In order to claim tokens from your NFT you'll need a small amount of Ethereum (ETH) in your wallet to cover the transaction fees — otherwise known as "*Gas"*. It will only require a tiny amount, typically less than a few dollars, however **it's important that the ETH is on the *****Arbitrum***** network**. If you don't have any, this guide will walk you through buying some on [Coinbase](https://www.coinbase.com/)—although it can be purchased through other services too—and sending it to your wallet on the Arbitrum One network, so you are ready to claim your tokens. The example shown here are using Coinbase's desktop UI, but the the process will be similar on their mobile app too. ## Buying ETH via Coinbase {% stepper %} {% step %} ### Make an account with [Coinbase](https://www.coinbase.com/). Keep in mind you will have to KYC and prove your identity to be compliant with various AML laws and other regulations. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### Search for Ethereum Once you have an account, type "ETH" into the search bar and click it
{% endstep %} {% step %} ### Pay for your ETH Now you can pay with USD (or fiat currency of your choice) if you already have in your account, or if you click the red circle you can link your bank account and pay directly from there.
{% endstep %} {% step %} ### Choose the amount When buying you can choose to buy a certain USD value or if you click the red circle you can buy a certain quantity of tokens. $10 USD of ETH should be more than enough to cover numerous claims and transactions.

{% endstep %} {% step %} ### Sending it to your Wallet Now that you have Ethereum, you need to send it to the wallet that holds the NFT. \ \ Click **send crypto**.

{% endstep %} {% step %} ### Important: Select the Arbitrum network Now choose the *Arbitrum* network. This is the payment network that Autonomi ecosystem utilises.

{% endstep %} {% step %} ### Choose the amount to send Type in the USD value you wish to transfer or use the arrows to type the amount of Ethereum you wish to send. Then choose **preview**.

{% endstep %} {% step %} ### Approve on your phone If you haven't already, download the Coinbase app on your phone, which is available for [Apple iOS](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/coinbase-buy-btc-eth-sol/id886427730) or on [Android](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coinbase.android\&hl=en_US).\ \ For security reasons Coinbase will ask you to open the the Coinbase app on your phone as a precaution. Go on your phone and click **approve**.
{% endstep %} {% step %} ### Receive your ETH Within a few minuets your ETH will be in your wallet, and you should be ready to [claim your ANT](/). {% endstep %} {% endstepper %} # FAQs The NFT is immutable and unique to the individual receiving it, with an allocation of tokens being attributed to the recipient/owner — you can think of it like an access key. There is no expiration date and the NFT has no set or specific value (the NFTs existed prior to the token being available in the market). The NFT only provides the ability to claim a specific amount of Autonomi tokens, these Autonomi tokens will have a fluctuating value as with any cryptocurrency. ### What is the NFT worth? As mentioned above, there can be no specific value attributed to an NFT, it is merely giving access to a specific number of tokens. These tokens will have a value, that value can be realised through the sale of tokens. The amount of tokens sold and the price of a token at the time of sale will determine the value received — noting claiming a token allocation and selling a number of tokens are not the same thing. ### Is there a use for and/or value in the NFT after the Autonomi tokens associated with it has all been claimed? No, there are no plans to give further utility to the NFT. ### What is the overall amount of Autonomi tokens being allocated through NFTs? The token allocations of Autonomi tokens ($AUTONOMI) are set out in the [White Paper](https://autonomi.com/whitepaper), but for ease shown here. There will be a total ‘Maximum Supply’ of 1,200,000,000 (1.2 Billion) tokens created over The Network’s \ lifetime.
### How do people get Autonomi Tokens? There are 3 ways for a person to own Autonomi tokens. They can [run a node](broken://spaces/mHMagc6BlRPNTxTKcyjL) and earn storage fees and emissions for being available to host data (referred to as ‘Emissions Allocation’ on the pie chart). An individual can [buy it](https://docs.autonomi.com/token/using-autonomi-tokens/buying) on the market via an exchange (the token is on both centralized and decentralized exchanges). Someone can obtain it by claiming their allocation of Autonomi tokens. This group includes: **MaidSafeCoin holders**—of either MAID or EMAID—referred to as ‘Token Holders’ on the pie chart. If you are a holder you can convert them to Autonomi tokens by following the dedicated [MaidSafeCoin Conversion Guide](https://docs.autonomi.com/token/converting-maidsafecoin/process-overview). **MaidSafe Shareholders** and **Team Members** (the red section on the pie chart) Those who have earned rewards through loaning funds to—**MaidSafe Loan Scheme Supporters**—or testing The Network through the [**Beta Reward Scheme**](https://docs.autonomi.com/token/beta-rewards/redeeming-beta-rewards) (these tokens come from the ‘Autonomi Foundation’ section on the pie chart). ### Do I need to use my NFT straightaway? No, there is no expiry date on an NFT, and any allocation of Autonomi tokens will remain connected to the NFT until it is claimed. Depending on your personal circumstance and where you pay taxes, there could be two different taxable events — when you claim your tokens using your NFT, and when/if you choose to sell all or part of the tokens you hold as a result of the claim. MaidSafe cannot and will not provide financial advice so please do seek appropriately qualified and professional services relating to the same. ### How do I claim my NFT? If you were a Loan Scheme Supporter, you would have had your NFT airdropped to you. If you are a direct MaidSafe shareholder you would have been requested (via email) to provide a wallet address. If you are connected to MaidSafe via BTTF, they will have the NFT (as the direct shareholder) for the collective and therefore they will have access to your allocation of tokens. To confirm you have your NFT, please visit [arbiscan.io](https://www.google.com/url?q=http://arbiscan.io/\&sa=D\&source=editors\&ust=1747055669736128\&usg=AOvVaw3RYe1yVdmzeA3AZzh96zCk), enter your Ethereum address, and navigate to the “NFT Transfers” tab. There you should see your NFT. If you are having trouble seeing it, please pop into the MaidSafe/Autonomi discord and one of the team will help you. You can claim 50% of your allocation using your NFT from **14:00 GMT May 12, 2025**. The remaining amount will be able to be claimed from **August 10, 2025** (90 days from May 12, 2025). ### Can I sell my NFT? Yes, it is yours to sell, transfer, hold or use (in order to claim tokens). ### Should I sell it now, do I need to do this today? There is no expiry in regards to accessing your allocation. You will only be able to access 50% of the tokens you have attributed to your NFT (allocated to you) from today - the remaining 50% will be unlocked August 10 2025. The premise of token allocations is that you, due to your support, are connected via Autonomi tokens to the growth and success of the Network. The Network has only been live in its earliest form a number of weeks, and has just started (through [Impossible Futures](https://impossible-futures.com)) to see the first green shoots. You will be able to see how small the current numbers of holders and supporters of the network is and track the growth of the same, by looking at interactions across social media, by viewing activity on-chain or on platforms such as GitHub, and through market trackers such as [CoinMarketCap](https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/autonomi/) and [Coin Gecko](https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/autonomi). # Process Overview MaidSafeCoin is a proxy token for Autonomi tokens ($AUTONOMI), which was made available for purchase during the MaidSafe ICO in 2014. It's redeemable 1:1 for Autonomi tokens through an airdrop. Holders of [MAID (Omni)](/how-to-convert-maid) and [eMAID (ERC20)](/how-to-convert-emaid) can redeem their tokens for $AUTONOMI without the need for KYC. The process varies slightly depending on the token type, but involves **burning your MaidSafeCoin** then **receiving your Autonomi tokens by airdrop** according to a [set schedule](/timeline). Here are the step-by-step guides for how to do it: {% content-ref url="/pages/cDRy0GYli8wiM70nB1YF" %} [How to Convert MAID](/how-to-convert-maid) {% endcontent-ref %} ## **Key Details** * No KYC is required to receive the airdrop * You must carefully complete the process, as submitting the incorrect information could result in permanent token loss. * You do not need to convert all your MaidSafeCoin in one go * Airdrops occur on a [rolling schedule](/timeline) beginning on the **14 February 2025** * The last and final deadline for the airdrop will be **3 February 2028** # Timeline The conversion process will open at **11:00 GMT on February 6th, 2025** with the first airdrop being Friday 14th February 2025. The final deadline is **February 3rd, 2028.** ## **Airdrop Schedule** You can initiate the process and submit your details at any time until the final deadline but your Autonomi tokens tokens will be airdropped according to the following schedule: * **Twice weekly** (Tuesdays & Fridays) from **14 February 2025 – 7 March 2025** * **Once weekly** (Fridays) from **8 March 2025 – 4 April 2025** * **Fortnightly** (every second Friday) from **5 April 2025 – 2 May 2025** * **Monthly** (second Friday of the month) from **3 May 2025 – 6 February 2026** * **Quarterly** (last Friday of the quarter) from **7 February 2026 – 3 February 2028** {% hint style="info" %} For example: If you burn 50 MaidSafeCoin and complete the process by 10th of March 2025, 50 Autonomi tokens will be airdropped to your wallet on the 14th of March 2025. {% endhint %} # How to Convert MAID The process of converting from MAID (the original coin on the Omni chain) differs slightly depending on where you are currently holding your coins. You'll need this for the final step too. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### **Sign Your Omni Wallet Address** * Log into your [**OmniWallet**](https://www.omniwallet.org/) * Navigate to **My Wallet > My Addresses** to view your stored addresses * Click on the **Actions** button next to the address containing your MAID and select **Sign Message** * **Paste your ETH wallet address into the text box.** This is the same wallet from *Step 1*, and it's where you'll receive your Autonomi tokens via airdrop * Click **"Sign Message"** to generate a signature {% hint style="success" %} **Copy and save this signature.** you'll need to submit this in the final step {% endhint %} {% hint style="success" %} **Copy and save the Omni Address** containing your MAID, as you'll need to submit that in the final step too. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### **Burn MAID Tokens** * **Ensure you have a small amount of Bitcoin in your OmniWallet to cover the transaction fees.** The fee is the same regardless of how much you are sending. To get a accurate estimate of how much you may need, you can check the [Bitcoin Average Transaction Fee](https://ycharts.com/indicators/bitcoin_average_transaction_fee). *As an example, it cost as little as $2 worth of BTC a few days ago. So, $10 worth of BTC would be more than sufficient, even if fees increase temporarily.* * Navigate to **My Wallet > Send** * Enter the amount of MAID (full integers) you wish to swap then… * **Send it to this burn address:** ``` 1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE ``` {% hint style="info" %} This may look like it's not a valid address, but it is. It contains the warning `DontSend` as it will burn any tokens or BTC sent to it… but it is the correct address to send to in order to burn your MAID as part of the conversion process. {% endhint %} {% hint style="success" %} **Save a copy of the Transaction Hash** that you are shown after sending to this address. You'll need to submit it in the final step. {% endhint %} {% endstep %} {% step %} ### **Submit Your Information** To complete the airdrop, you'll need to submit the following details through this [**Airdrop Form**](https://form.typeform.com/to/uM679hXj) **✅** The **ETH Wallet Address** where you want receive your Autonomi tokens, copied from *Step 1* — which should be the same address used to sign the message in *Step 2* **✅** The **Signed Message Signature** you copied at the end of *Step 2* **✅** The **Omni Address** you sent your MAID from in *Step 3* **✅** The **Burn Transaction Hash** you saved the end of *Step 3* {% hint style="info" %} The information you submit will be used by the Autonomi Foundation only to validate and process your airdrop of Autonomi tokens, and will be held for no longer than 30 days after the airdrop transaction is completed, after which it will be deleted. \ \ We use the third party tool [Typeform](https://www.typeform.com) to collect this submission data.\ \ No other personally identifiable information (such as an email or IP Address) is collected nor processed by the Autonomi Foundation with this submission. This is to protect your personal data.\ \ It means that **you cannot be contacted about your submission**, so please check the details carefully! {% endhint %} # From a Hardware Wallet There are a variety of hardware wallet solutions that the community have used in the past to store MAID, and all may need slightly different approaches depending on how they are set up, and whether you have any other crypto assets stored on the wallet at the same time. There are two broad solutions though ### Use Your Private Key Similar to the approach for those with [Paper Wallets](/how-to-convert-maid/from-a-paper-wallet), you can Import Private Key into a new OmniWallet, and then continue with the [OmniWallet steps](/how-to-convert-maid/from-omniwallet) from there. ### Send to a new OmniWallet Or, if you don't want to expose your Private Key—should you still have other crypto assets stored on your device for example—then another solution is to create a new OmniWallet, and send your MAID to it (and some BTC for gas), and proceed from there. # How to Convert eMAID The process of converting from eMAID (the newer ERC-20 version of MaidSafeCoin) differs slightly depending on where you are currently holding your coins. * Connect your ETH wallet holding eMAID using **Connect to Web3**.
* In the burn dropdown, enter the number of tokens to burn and confirm the transaction.

The system will automatically detect your burn transaction. {% endstep %} {% step %} ### **Receive your** Autonomi tokens Your Autonomi tokens will be airdropped to the same ETH wallet from which you burned your eMAID. The number of tokens received will match the number of burned tokens 1:1. A hardware wallet like **Ledger** or **Trezor** enhances security by keeping your private keys offline.
